EGGS, EMBRYOS AND ETHICS
New reproductive technologies permit new choices, Freedom and Responsibility take new meanings. Birds and bees, ladies and hospitals, even AIDS and condoms, become less relevant in the new world of human sexuality/reproduction. New technologies, such as test-tube babies or easy cure of some venereal diseases, surrogate mothers, procreation by homosexual people, clinics which treat sexual dysfunction, need new social practice. Education for this new world requires new thinking by everybody. New reproductive technologies permit new choices: recreation and procreation can again be separated. Surrogate mothers, procreation by homosexual people, clinics which treat sexual dysfunction, need new social rules in a world whose most peculiar overt sexual abnormality used to be nuns.
